Bang & Olufsen takes to Milan Design Week to unveil a striking all-in-one TV/speaker system-- the Beovision Harmony unfolds a 3-channel speaker system when switched on, using a mechanism reminiscent of butterfly wings.
The Beovision Harmony is a high-end TV featuring a 77-inch LG OLED panel. When switched off the teak oak and aluminium speaker panels partially hide the display, and fan out while the set rises to ideal viewing height when on. Either way, the result makes for an eye-catching TV customers will surely want to show off.
The move follows a $1 billion investment in the Boston-based security vendor from private equity Hellman & Friedman. The company offers 5 pre-configured bundles ranging from The Starter (includes a base station, keypad, entry sensor, motion sensor and SimpliCam security cam) to the high-est end offering, The Bamburgh (includes extra key fobs, sensors, 105dB siren and a panic button).
The platform auto-discovers all AV devices on a network and natively understands multiple sources and destination, including 40 Yamaha receivers. Josh.ai provides a sophisticated voice-controlled home automation setup complete with a suite of apps. Proprietary natural language processing (NLP) allows users to conversationally request any number of tasks, through commands such as "OK Josh, dim the lights, listen to "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones, and watch "Black Mirror" season two, episode three."
Unlike ultra-high performance landscape systems demanding high-power amplifiers, the Terrazza Landscape system is designed for use with low-power distributed audio amplifiers or extended audio zones (like Zone 2) from conventional AVRs. Such flexibility means installers do not need to add high-power amplification dedicated to an outdoor system.
The VSX-LX504 and VSX-LX304 are 9-channel Dolby Atmos models with DTS:X decoding optimised for IMAX Enhanced software. The design enables 7.2.2 or 5.2.4 immersive audio setups, and the AVRs feature x7 HDMI inputs and x2 HDMI outputs with HDCP 2.2, 4K/60Hz, Dolby Vision, HLG and WCG (wide colour gamut) support. Power output clocks at 215W per channel and 185W per channel (into 6 Ohms) for the VSX-LX504 and VSX-LX304 respectively.
