Optoma announces the CinemaX P1 Smart 4K UHD Laser Cinema projector, a compact ultra short throw number able to project a 120-inch image from around 60cm distance featuring a built-in soundbar and an integrated smart TV platform.
The lamp-free laser light engine and DLP XLR chip inside the CinemaX P1 can produce images with 3000 lumens brightness and up to 15000000 contrast with Dynamic Black enabled. A fixed glass lens offers a 0.25:1 throw ratio. The projector also covers REC.2020 and the DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, and is HDR10 compatible. On the audio side, the built-in NuForce 40W soundbar features two full range drivers, two woofers and isolated and ported chambers, and supports Dolby Digital 2.0.
CEDIA Expo 2019 sees Brilliant and Schlage announce a collaboration bringing more simplicity to the smart home and home technology industry by combining products from the two companies.
Designed for either standalone installation or integration with the URC Total Control 2.0 or MX HomePro systems, the 500 Series is compatible with LED lighting and promises several benefits, including increased power, increased range (up to 152m), 250% more bandwidth, enhanced security and ease of installation. It consists of wireless light switches, dimmers, receptacles, accessory modules and a wireless gateway. As a standalone system, the end user controls it using the URC Home App on iOS and Android devices.
The analyst points out premium TV features, such as 4K resolution and OLED technology, are up in terms of sales share, while the TV sound ecosystem is thriving. For instance, 4K TV sales are up by 11% in H1 2019, and are expected to total 100m for full-year 2019. Meanwhile OLED penetration sees an 11% turnover share in Europe, and "robust" growth across the globe.
