Connected camera maker Arlo announces the Video Doorbell-- a smart entry solution the company claims has an "industry-leading" vertical field-of-view providing customers with a larger picture of the front entry.

The extra-wide 180-degree diagonal field-of-view of the Video Doorbell captures images in a square aspect ratio, allowing users to fully view packages on the ground or visitors from head to two. Image quality clocks at HD, while two-way audio allows user to simultaneously see and speak to visitors. The camera connects to existing mechanical or digital chimes for simple installation and continuous power, and comes inside a weather-resistant casing.

Nvidia is yet to announce a successor to the Shield TV STB, but a leak on Amazon reveals the "Nvidia Shield TV Pro," a supposed update promising improvements thanks to an update to a Tegra X1+ processor.

As spotted by 9to5Google, the soon deleted Amazon listing featured a device identical to the 2017 Shield TV refresh. It not only features the chassis with the green accent light, it also has the same x2 USB, ethernet and HDMI ports. However the upgrade to a Tegra X1+ processor promises a 25% performance boost, together with 3GB RAM and 16GB of storage (expandable by adding a storage device to the USB ports). The processor update also allows Dolby Vision support, with both Dolby Vision HDR for the visuals and immersive audio via Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus.

Samsung Display plans to transition to Quantum Dot OLED (aka QD-OLED), the display technology rival to the likes of high-end LED LCD and WRGB OLED, by 2021 following a $10.9 billion investment in a first manufacturing line.

Located in Asan City, South Chungcheong Province, S. Korea, the Q1 line will have a production capacity of 30000 sheets once it starts operations in 2021. According to The Investor, Samsung plans to replace current 8th generation LCD lines with QD-OLED lines by 2025 as part of a transition scheme from LCDs to QD-OLEDs for large-size devices.

RTI announces the appointment of CFO Mark Derus as CEO, following the decision of former CEO Ed McConaghay to step down from a leadership position in favour of an "advisory role" within the company.

Derus says he will focus on driving global growth and expanding the presence of RTI within the commercial market. He will also continue to build on successful RTI initiatives, including the 3-year warranty, robust training programs and the creation of a global Dealer Experience team.
