The China Light Industry Council (CLIC) will set China's technological standards for smart home devices including electric appliances, locks, lighting and furniture.
This follows China’s attempts in PC and smartphone technology to develop local standards that go global following China’s export dominance. By creating their own standard (or their own version of an international standard), China makers hope to avoid the fees they pay for Western standards and certification.
If successful, it also allows China to ask Western buyers to pay license fees and certification in order to build products for export in China. It’s karma payback for years of Western high tech standards ownership.
Driving such growth are more brands entering the OLED market, as well as promotional efforts from major vendors such as Sony. This comes despite the problems of OLED technology, namely colour decay and burn-in issues, and more companies are looking into further developing the technology. On the other hand QLED TV makers, including Samsung, TCL and Hisense, are finding the high pricing of QLED an issue when it comes to promotion.
The system uses a 10GbE switch, enabling high-bandwidth ethernet connectivity throughout the project. It also allows installations from 2 to 128 zones. Products in the lineup include the Savant IP 4- and 8-input video transmitters, as well as Savant IP video output receivers available in either fibre or copper options.
The kit bundles an XP-3 control processor, Pro Control Pro24.z remote and an unlimited RTiPanel license. The processor features a built-in ZigBee RF transceiver to allow bi-directional communications with compatible RTI and Pro Control remote controls. In addition to control options (including IR, RS-232 and relays) the XP-3 uses two-way drivers to provide uers with feedback from 3rd party devices and event scheduling.
