Matrix Labs announces the ISE 2018 debut of the Matrix Creator and Matrix Voice IoT development platforms, both means allowing installers to build custom IoT apps featuring functionality not provided by big-name control bands.
First seen at CEDIA 2017, Matrix Creator and Matrix Voice allow the fast, efficient and affordable development of simple-to-complex IoT hardware applications, opening new possibilities to European custom installers. Both run on the proprietary Matrix OS, and handle both residential and commercial automation systems.
The Matrix Creator incorporates a Xilinx Spartan 6 FPGA, an ARM Cortex M3 microcontroller, motion, temperature, humidity, light, ultraviolet and infrared sensor, an 8-microphone array and a 35-LED array. The board is programmable in 40 different languages and also includes integrated Z-Wave and ZigBee communications as well as a range of analogue and digital input/output interfaces.
An evolution of the H2X series, the H2XC offers more pro AV and large residential options for the distribution of multi-source 4K UHD with HDR and legacy video formats. It also handles multi-source audio matrix switching to multiple zones, including SmartTV function and audio on-demand products.
As the 3rd generation XP-8 control processor, the XP-8v combines the advanced control options of previous models with an i.MX53 processor for increased processing power and expanded 2-way driver support. It has more RAM and non-volatile Flash storage (1GB and 512MB respectively), and the addition of an HDMI output enables an on-screen display for a convenient custom control interface on TVs.
Hiding behind a Stewart Filmscreen acoustically transparent borderless screen are wafer2 series speakers promising the "ultimate in audio transparency for home theatre." Also showcased are the BB6 and QB1 large scale active speakers with active DSP control. PMC says many major Hollywood studios and film composers use these speakers as they score blockbuster films, and in home theatres they provide customers with movies sounding exactly how the director intended.
The integration allows native control of the GC3 panel from the ELAN user interface. ELAN Auto Zone Detection simplifies installation, since once the panel is configured, all zones and zone names are automatically added to the system. An "Arm-Disarm" feature shows current panel security status, and provides controls for the arming and disarming of the GC3 system, while "Auto Arm" arms the panel without entering a PIN code.
