The IFA Global Press Conference provides a preview of the largest technology show in the world, pointing out connectivity, AI and voice control as the big trends driving innovation in both CE and home appliances this year and beyond.
The Berlin trade show already has a first pair of keynote speakers-- Huawei CEO Richard Yu and Qualcomm president Christiano Amon-- together with a first Global Audio Partner in Sennheiser. The famed audio maker has been an IFA presence for the past 69, and it plans to support key IFA events with professional audio gear and support journalists with equipment and technical support. The IFA Next innovation hub gets a first Global Innovation Partner with the land of the rising sun, Japan.
“Amazon regained its position as the leading home audio vendor in terms of quarterly shipments, wrestling the crown from Harman/JBL, which dropped into 2nd place,” the analyst says. “However, Harman/JBL’s strong performance between Q1 and Q3 was enough for it to achieve top home audio vendor for full year 2018. In revenue terms, Harman/JBL, Bose, Sony and Sonos led the pack consistently throughout the year.”
According to the company, AG8 series TVs feature an OLED panel capable of pushing over 8 million self-illuminating pixels for "unprecedented contrast and contrast fidelity." Meanwhile a 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme brings together 3 technologies, namely object-based HDR remaster, Super Bit Mapping and Dual database processing to improve images from any source, be it TV broadcast, stream or disc. Further improving on images is Dolby Vision support.
At first glance the Sense appears to be a fairly simple device. It features a slim, one-button design, and can be easily mounted above a cooktop, wall or under the cooker hood. However Safera says it carries a "powerful" processor able to analyse data from over 20 sensors allowing it to work out stove temperature, air quality, cooker power consumption and even human activity around the stove, and is compatible with both electric and gas stoves.
Wait, you might ask, why would the young even want a vertical TV in the first place? The answer lies in a want to mirror smartphones for mobile shopping, watching online video, scrolling through Instagram or playing games. In case of conventional TV content, the user can then simply turn the the Sero around, thanks to an integrated panel.
