British company Bare Conductive takes to Kickstarter to launch the Electric Paint Lamp Kit-- a means to turn "any piece of paper" into a touch-sensitive lamp, with not tools, programming or special skills required.
The kit contains three different lamps, namely a touch version, one with a dimmer and a proximity lamp controlled by putting a hand over a pad. All use a non-toxic electrically conductive paint dubbed Electric Paint. It works on a variety of materials (including paper, plastic and textiles), and acts as buttons for a light-up board made of 6 LEDs.
The light-up board is USB-powered and features the 3 aforementioned lighting modes. As well as paper, the board and paint can also be used with lamps made of different materials, allowing one to go really creative if they have a cutting machine Cameo at hand.
“It has been a long-standing goal of CEDIA to make our certification exams more accessible to our members around the world,” the organisation says. “Members who previously could only take certification exams at the CEDIA show or at another CEDIA training event now have the flexibility to take the exam close to home.”
The SoundWear Companion pairs with smartphones via Bluetooth, meaning it streams music and takes calls just like any other similar device. It is controlled via companion iOS/Android app, and promises to provide music while not shutting out the noise of the outside world.

It includes a 192kHz/32-bit digital to analog converter block with a clock jitter reducer for more precise and high-quality sound, while each channel provides 125W of power to drive a full 5.1.4 home cinema setup without need for additional external amplifiers.
