JVC Shows New AV over IP Security Camera

JVC launches a number of analog and IP-based cameras-- including x8 Super LoLux HD IP-based cameras, x2 TK-T series analog cameras and x3 additions to the V.Networks camera line.

JVC SecurityThe cameras support H.262 High Profile, a format the company claims uses less bandwidth than either H.264 Baseline or Main Profile, the standard over 90% of the IP security market currently uses.

The Super LoLux HD cameras carry a 1/3-inch CMOS imager, recording 1080p images at up to 30fps. Other features include auto back focus, on-board recording to SD card, motion detection, privacy mask and a variety of built-in video analytics. The cameras support ONVIF and PSIA standards for network cameras, as well as a wide variety of leading video management software (VMS) platforms, including Milestone Xprotect.

Meanwhile the V.Networks day/night cameras record at 1080p and offer H.264 (High Profile), M-JPEG and MPEG-4 support, using a 1/2.7-inch CMOS imager with 0.3 lux sensitivity. Other features include two-way audio, power over Ethernet (PoE), SD card recording, motion detection and back light compensation.

The VN-T216VPRU is a vandal-proof outdoor dome (IP66) with True Day/Night performance and built-in IR LEDs (50-foot IR distance), while the VN-T216U is a vandal-resistant indoor mini dome and the VN-T16U is an indoor box camera. Both the VN-T216VPRU and VN-T216U feature a 3mm-9mm lens, while lenses for the VN-T16U are sold separately (CS mount).
