Legrand Buys More Networking With Luxul

Home and commercial automation vendor Legrand buys IP networking provider Luxul Wireless, adding to a stable of brands including the likes of On-Q, Vantage, Middle Atlantic, QMotion and NuVo, among others.

Legrand LuxulFinancial details of the deal are not available.

Luxul provides networking for custom integration systems aimed at residential and SMB applications. According to Legrand such capabilities make Luxul products highly in demand, especially when one considers the current growth of internet of things (IoT) and automation systems.

“A great user experience starts with a great network and Luxul Wireless is #1 in their market. Their solutions will become an essential component of Legrand’s On-Q and Nuvo home systems, as well as supporting countless other systems,” Legrand adds. “This acquisition brings best-in-class network expertise to Legrand and leverages many channel synergies.”

Post-acquisition the Luxul will continue running as a standalone business within the Legrand electrical wiring systems division, with no changes to distribution channels or sales organisation.

Legrand has been through something of a buying spree lately-- last week saw the company acquire commercial building lighting solutions provider Pinnacle Architectural Lighting, and back in December it bought automated window shade brand QMotion.
