Runco Projects 3D Ambitions

Runco unveils its 3Dimension series projectors at ISE 2011, showing off its 3D technology in a series of press demos.

Runco D-73dThe company's 3D solution uses passive-glasses technology similar to that used at higher-end cinemas, delivering a constant 3D image without any flicker, distortion or, most importantly, discomfort, as this reporter can attest.

The model at the show-- the D-73d-- carries an evolution of Runco's lampless LED technology, InfiniLight. This energy-efficient solution is also mercury free, and can instantly produce an image (eliminating the need to put the projector on standby).

The model also includes an upgraded Digital High-Definition (DHD) external video processor, offering what Runco says is its most advanced alignment yet, as well as x4 HDMI inputs and x3 composite connections. Meanwhile a new web interface allows calibration from any internet-connected device.
