Optoma 4K Projectors Get Google Assistant, IFTTT

Optoma projectors get another smart assistant option-- as well as Amazon Alexa, the UHL55, UHD51A and UHD51ALVe 4K UHD home projectors are compatible with Google Assistant.

Optoma projectorsAlso getting such capability is the upcoming UHZ65UST ultra short throw laser 4K UHD projector.

Voice controls enabled by the assistant include power, source selection, sound output adjustment and inbuilt media player control. Google Assistant can also select various display modes and HDR picture modes, as well as PureMotion options. Enabling Google Assistant requires connecting the projector to a wifi network and registering it with an Optoma MyDevices Account.

In addition, the projectors are also compatible with IFTTT (If This Then That), the free web-based service allowing users to create chains of simple conditional statements. Called applets, the commands trigger events such as turning the projector off when leaving the house or dimming the lights when the projector is switched on.

“Consumers are increasingly integrating voice assistants into their daily routines, as well as expecting the convenience of smart home integration with their devices and electronics, so it was important for us to align our new home cinema projectors with these growing consumer needs.” Optoma says.
