Smart TVs are the next product category for reborn camera maker Polaroid, as the company reveals the first of such products at the Google I/O conference, all armed with Google Cast technology.
Google Cast allows users to easily cast content from compatible apps running on devices or PCs to the TV all without need for cables.
The conference saw Polaroid reveal an initial lineup of 5 TVs, in sizes ranging from 43- to 65-inch. All offer a fairly basic feature set, with 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution LED-backlit displays, 120Hz refresh rate, native HEVC decoding and HDMI 2.0 connectivity.
The first Polaroid TVs smart TVs should ship from H3 2016, with a final 75-inch model to be avaialable by the end of the year.
