Voice controlled-assistant Josh.ai gets compatibility with devices from another vendor-- Sony, specifically through integration with network-enabled TVs, projectors and receivers.
Device compatibility not only allows for voice controls, but also for a seamless setup process. After connection to the network, Josh auto-populates Sony devices, accelerating the deployment process. Making setup even easier is the fact the Josh portal visibly diagrams the configuration of HDMI inputs and AV outputs.
Once the system is complete, users can walk from room to room and simply ask Josh to turn on desired content. For example, they can walk into the theatre and say "OK Josh, watch season 3 episode 2 of Med Men." Josh.ai understands the command is coming from the theatre and powers on the projector, finds Mad Men on Netflix, directs the Sony receiver to select the appropriate media server as input and sends the proper output, switches to the appropriate audio source, and finally Mad Men is on.
