Savant releases the 8.8 software update-- a release offering an enhanced UI making access to music easier and personalisation capabilities allowing installers to fine-tune the user experience for clients.
Version 8.8 includes Savant Music 2.0, a music server experience the company says has been designed from the ground up. It promises improved reliability, speed, easier navigation, preset recall and song queues, all with a redesigned control system. An equaliser screen makes fine-tuning sound on supported devices easier, and it is compatible with the Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn and Tidal streaming services, as well as Airplay and PLEX for locally stored music.
Meanwhile the Savant Pro 8 iOS app features a "fresher" design for entertainment services. The control screens for cable and streaming video services include easy access to commonly used controls (such as volume and mute), and configurable button trays allow users to quickly and easily modify button layouts to highlight favourite commands. The 8.8 update also features a compact home selector view for customers with multiple Savant homes, making control of multiple properties easier.
Finally the TrueImage interface is enhanced with white temperature settings for specific colour temperatures ranging from 2700K to 6000k. Favourite colour presets and combinations allow for easier recall, and Savant Smart Bulb and Strips get a "superior" colour selection tool. Customers can also run TrueImage on the Savant Pro Remote, meaning customers can control lighting visuals directly from the touchscreen.
