Meridian Releases DSP750 In-Wall Loudspeaker

The latest loudspeaker from the Meridian Audiio architectural range is the DSP750, an in-wall digital active loudspeaker claiming a host of exclusive Meridian technologies, such as the CLASS-M DSP engine.

According to the company, the CLASS-M DSP engine provides thermal and dynamic bass protection, allowing for detailed and accurate sound. A "double-baffle" aluminium enclosure design minimises unwanted resonance and coloration, while separate mid-range driver enclosures eliminate interaction with the bass drivers.

Inside are three high-performance drive-units and five drive-units powered by a bridged pair of dynamic high-res amplifiers. Each pair delivers over 100W into 8 ohms. EBA (Enhanced Bass Alignment) heightens sound quality across the frequency range, Centre Elevation technology creates an immersive sound experience. Other Meridian enhancement technologies include FIFO buffering, DSP upsampling, apodising filters and MHR (Meridian High Resolution).

In total the speaker delivers a maximum output of 120db and bass extension down to 30Hz. The built-in custom berylium dome tweeter with diffraction expansion technology ensures a wide sound dispersion for lifelike sound capable of playing over 40kHz. Two 100mm mid-range drivers enable a uniform and vibrant stereo image across a wide listening area.

The sealed aluminium cabinet has an ultra-shallow 100mm mounting depth for easy installation and precise positioning. Users can adjust the rough-in box and frame for various wall materials and depth, and can paint the magnetic grille to blend seamlessly into any interior.
