McIntosh Presents RS200 Wireless System

McIntosh is the next company to take on streaming audio as it announces the RS200-- a next-generation all-in-one wireless speaker system compatible with multiple services, as well as Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth 5.0.

McIntosh RS200It offers power output rated at 650W, as delivered to 8 drivers consisting of two 4- x 6-inch woofers, four 2-inch midranges and two 3/4-inch tweeters. In addition, a subwoofer output allows connection to an external-powered subwoofer to further enhance low frequencies. A 3-position EQ switch allows customers to set the EQ as based on the specific room and listening preferences.

The RS200 includes several streaming options, with Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth 5.0 with AAC support, Qualcomm aptX HD, Qualcomm aptX Low Latency, DTS Play-Fi and DLNA. On the non-streaming side it has an audio-only HDMI input for connection to TVs with ARC capabilities, an optical input for connection to digital sources, USB-B port for playback of files from Mac or Windows PCs and a 3.5mm aux input for analog sources. Customers can add a pair of McIntosh Play-Fi compatible RS100 wireless speakers for surround sound.

The company says shipments should start from March 2019.
