Astell & Kern Presents 2nd Gen Headphones

High-end portable media player maker Astell & Kell announces two pairs of headphones-- the 2nd generation AK T5p over-ear headphones, a collaboration with Beyerdynamic, and the in-ear Diana in-ear monitor developed by Jerry Harvey Audio.

Astell Kell headphonesBuilt in Heilbronn, Germany, the AK T5p 2nd Gen are built using premium materials such as sheepskin earpads and braided silver and copper cables. They are tuned for the audiophile-grade Astell & Kern portable music player range, and carry the same Tesla transducers found in other Beyerdynamic headphones paired with Test Technology drivers promising extremely balanced and dynamic sound.

The detachable cable is specially made for the AK T5p, and promises to reproduce the exact characteristics of the sound produced by the drivers. The headphones come in a package complete with carrying case, 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter and a quarter-inch connection adapter, and are available in extremely limited numbers. In fact, Astell & Kell plans to make just 1000 units, at a pricetag akin to many entire speaker systems.

Astell Kell DianaOn the less expensive side of things Astell & Kell offers the Diana Siren Series Universal Fit In-Ear Monitors-- in-ear headphones made by Jerry Harvey Audio. Available in a striking red finish, the headphones features a 3-way, 3-driver design with dedicated balanced armatures for the high, mid and low ranges. The braided cable is identical to the one found with the AK T5p 2nd Gen, and the headphones ship with a carrying case, varying sizes of silicon ear tips and a 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter.

Both AK T5p and Diana headphones are available from December 2018.
