Klipsch Presents Professional Series Architectural Speakers

Klipsch announces an architectural speaker series aimed at professional custom installers-- the Professional Series Reference Premiere architectural speakers.

Klipsch architecture speakerThe lineup offers 5 speakers, with three in-wall (PRO-160RPW, PRO-180RPW, and PRO-250RPW LCR) and two in-ceiling models (PRO-16RPC, PRO-180RPC). It combines the aesthetics of an architectural speaker with the acoustics of the Klipsch Reference Premiere home theatre component speakers.

As the company puts it, Tractrix horns provide controlled directivity of high frequencies for more dynamic, detailed sound with higher efficiency, while a silicon composite coating reduces high frequency resonance for smoother, flatter frequency response. Titanium dome tweeters minimise distortion and deliver enhanced performance, and Cerametallic woofers allow for exceptional efficiency and powerful low frequencies.

A proprietary SecureFit two-piece modular installation system offers a more robust and stable acoustic platform for the speakers. It enables a quick and easy one-person installation solution, and allows the engagement of dog legs by hand to a present clamping force, eliminating the possibility of breaking the dog leg or cracking the drywall. Machine screws secure the speaker (as opposed to traditional drywall screws), reducing baffle vibration by up to 40%.

The magnetic grilles are flat, paintable and bezel-free, and the in-ceiling models include both round and square grills to fit any interior design. A magnetic paint shield protects the SecureFit installation frame and speaker from dust or paint during construction or renovation.
