Bryston Unveils BDP-3 Digital Music Player

Bryston announces the BDP-3-- a "reference quality" digital music player capable of reading virtually all digital file formats and resolutions, including DSD 128 and high-resolution PCM (up to 32-bit/384kHz) files.

Bryston BPD-3The BDP-3 connects to digital music libraries stored on NAS or USB drives, and streams internet radio and lossless music via Tidal. It carries 8GB RAM, x3 USB 3.0 ports and x2 USB 2.0 ports, with each set of USB sockets sitting on a separate USB bus to improve performance. The USB 3.0 ports make the player compatible with more DAC options, including platforms using the Streamlength protocol.

Digital outputs include S/PDIF and AES/EBU, allowing users to hook the BDP-3 to the matching Bryston BDA-3 DAC. The player uses a proprietary IAD (Integrated Audio Device) instead of a 3rd party sound card, something the company claims reduces jitter levels to "barely detectable, even by the most sophisticated measurement devices." It is also Roon Ready, meaning it can be integrated with the Roon music management and playback software.

The Bryston BDP-3 is available for preorder.
