CAD CableBritish high-end DAC maker Computer Audio Design (CAD) launches what it claims is a USB cable designed to "maximise sound quality from USB-equipped music playback systems"-- the CAD Cable.

The cable is designed by Scott Berry, the man behind the company's 1543 DAC. It promises to eliminate high-frequency noise from PC audio sources, while proprietary technology produces a low-noise interconnect.

It also uses a highly shield independent cable as a power line in order to minimise the impact of high-frequency noise from the USB interface.

Kramer Intros Pull-Resistant Cables

K-LockKramer launches K-Lock-- a pull-resistant connector the company claims provides up to 6.8kg of retaining force via small springs on the surface of the connector holding the cable tightly in place.

According to Kramer lower-gauge (thicker) cables weigh down cable connectors, and pulling them out of the socket has a substantial impact on final results. After all, even slight tension can result in signal loss, and chances for signal loss increase the longer the distances involved are.
