A Crestron partnership with Vitrea brings Crestron Connected status to the VTouch, a keypad featuring Cresnet connectivity for connection to any home network via standard ethernet cable.
The Vitrea VTouch keypad features a chic, modern design with unique features, including LED light identification and multi-press configuration. It comes in a variety of glass colours in standard or matte finish, as well as customisable glass panels.
Blue LED light surrounds the keypad, making it easy to locate in the dark, and the LED light intensity is fully adjustable. Single and double gang models are available with 1 to 16 keys, and installation is either standard or flush mount.
The R700 also includes an intuitive layout and finger grooves, making it ideal for entertainment and smart home control, and the LCD can display live video from compatible security cameras paired with the URC Z-Wave gateway. The package includes a lithium-ion rechargeable battery, charging cradle and onscreen battery indicator, and URC claims a full charge allows for 3-4 days of normal use.
The module is sponsored by VSSL and officially certified by URC. It allows control and feedback, including input switching, discrete volume, mote, play, pause, stop, remote streaming event tracking and now playing updates, with automatic discovery upon MAC address entry and self healing in case of IP address changes.
The app features quick access to the Navigation Drawer holding all local music libraries, streaming music services and personalised playlist. The Player Drawer prioritises the most important controls and multi-room grouping buttons, while a simplified browse model makes searching for albums, artists and songs easier.
The company says the encoder is designed for users wanting to stream but have limited technical knowledge. Initial configuration comes over network or Bluetooth connectivity and app, and once encoding and destination parameters are set (such as entering Facebook or YouTube keys) recording and live streaming can be started or stopped with the physical buttons or app.
