Crestron Adds IOEX Control Module

  • PDF

Crestron announces a pair of two infiNET EX IOEX Wireless Control modules-- the INET-IOEX-IRCOM and the INET-IOEX-RYIO, designed for the adding serial, IR and relay device wireless control to retrofit jobs.

Crestron IRCOMThe INET-IOEX-IRCOM module allows long distance (up to 45m) wireless communication between Crestron 3-Series control systems and devices controllable via serial or IR (TVs, STBs, displays, projector screens, AV components and switchers). It features x1 RS-232 and x2 IR control ports, and installers can mount it behind displays or on a wall near the desired device.

Meanwhile the INET-IOEX-RYIO provides a low-voltage relay and digital input control interface for relay-controlled remote devices (garage door openers, sensors, motorised screens) and provides the same infiNET EX wireless communication to a Crestron control system. Ports include x2 isolated relays and x2 digital inputs.

SurgeX Gets Control4 Certification

  • PDF

A number of SurgeX products are now Control4 Certified-- specifically the Axess SX-AX15, Axess Elite SX-AX15E and Axess Ready SA-82-AR residential power management solutions.

SurgexAxess is a line of IP-addressable surge elimination, power conditioning and management systems allowing the monitoring and control of power distribution platform via the internet. Installers can remotely customise, synthesise and monitor individual outlets and power settings on integrated IP-enabled devices for a grid-like view of Axess installations.

The system also allows the creation of custom sequences across the entire network, and sends out email notifications about power phenomena as based on user-defined conditions.

RTI Debuts Expansion Modules

  • PDF

RTI ExpansionRTI launches an expansion module line for the XP control system series-- with new offerings including the RCM-4 relay control module, ESC-2 serial control module and the PCM-4 I/O port control module.

The ESC-2 allows installers to add x2 additional bi-directional serial ports, while one can use the four relays in the RCM-4 in a normally open or closed configuration for control over everything from window shades to screen lifts.

Meanwhile the PCM-4 provides IR routing capabilities, one-way RS232 communications and power sensing via MPIO ports (x4 MPIO ports and 12-VDC voltage trigger output) when used with RTI accessory devices.

The PCM-4 and RCM-4 can be powered through either power supply (included) or Power over Ethernet (PoE).

IEEE Kicks Off High Efficiency WLAN Group

  • PDF

IEEE creates the IEEE 802.11 High Efficiency WLAN (HEW) study group, with the aim to enhance the efficiency and performance of current WLAN deployments-- creating a new wifi standard in the process.

wifiThe study group will consider use cases including dense network environments with large numbers of access points and stations.

Expressing interest in the future HEW project are over 300 individuals from equipment and silicon vendors, service providers, carriers, systems integrators, consultant organisations and academic institutions from over 20 countries. The IEEE 802.11 HEW study group meets up during IEE 802.11 WLAN working group meetings.

Better known as "wifi," the IEEE 802.11 standard underpins wireless networking around the world, and remains relevant with the emergence of applications such as smart grid, wireless docking and the so called "internet of things."

Gefen Intros UHD/4K Splitters

  • PDF

Gefen SplitterGefen believes the Ultra HD/4K revolution is around the corner as it launches a trio of splitters for the routing of HDMI signals with up to 4Kx2K resolutions.

The splitters take x1 HDMI input and split it into either 2 (1:2), 4 (1:4) or 8 (1:8) outputs. They work with any HD source and features what Gefen calls "Fast Switching Technology."

Support options include HDCP, Deep Color, 3DTV pass-through and lossless audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio.

The hardware is surface-mountable and available in either black or white.
