HDanywhere refreshes the mHub matrix lineup with the addition of two new 8x8 and 4x4 matrixes, including 4K UHD and HDCP 2.2-capable modles complete with matrixed audio extraction and "dependable" source switching.

Another addition is the "gateway to multiroom" 1x4 mHub 2K HDMI with over Cat splitter with local HDMI out.

The company says it has an mHub for suiting every requirement, with the lineup divided in 2 subgroups-- the entry-level mHub 2K HD 1080p video distribution products and the more advanced mHub 4K range of HDBaseT-Pro (Class A) matrixes with ethernet, PoH, HDCP 2.2 support, multichannel audio extraction and stereo extraction at the hub.

Just Add Power launches the 3G UHD over IP range, with transmitters and receivers working with standard gigabit managed ethernet switches to distribute 4K/UHD and HDCP 2.2 encrypted content.

The products also handle 1080p and lower content, from any number of source devices to any number of displays over local area network. Custom installer-friendly features include HDCP 2.2 support, a built-in 4K/1K up/down scaler on the receiver for the distribution of HDMI 2.0 sources to non HDMI 2.0 screens (and vice versa) and video wall support (up to 16x16).

Lossless multichannel audio format support includes Dolby Atmos, USB over IP and Dolby downmixing to stereo analog audio.

Google claims to have an easier way for customers to manage and connect to home networks-- the OnHub, a "different kind of router" promising quick and stable wifi connectivity with setup based around a mobile app.

The result of a collaboration with TP-Link, the OnHub does not like a regular, antenna-equipped router. Instead it is an Amazon Echo-style cylinder featuring 13 (six 2.4GHz, six 5GHz and one congestion monitor) internal antennas, 4GB internal storage and "subtle, useful lighting."

Wifi speeds clock at up to 1900Mbps, with smart device support including 802.154i, Bluetooth Smart Ready and Weave.

Ocean Matrix launches the OMX-HDMI-COAX-- an HDMI coax extender different from most similar products as it converts HDMI signals to HD digital TV signals using DVB-T CATV transmission mode over existing coax infrastructure.

Unlike traditional analog CATV signal, the extender uses 64 QAM mode to convert the signal and transmit via coaxial cables for long distances. The company claims the extender provides excellent image quality, high interference resistance and up to 99 channels, making it ideal for both residential and commercial applications.

The battle for internet of things (IoT) gateways in the connected home is already underway Gartner reports, one driven by increasingly smart home appliances, improved cellular and cable connections and dropping prices.

"The numerous IoT applications for the home include smart stoves, which tell you how to cook a meal and provide recipes, and smart washers and dryers, which help you determine the optimum time to run a load of laundry," the analyst says. "Add to that smart lighting, which can be operated remotely and programed to dim or turn on or off at specific times, thermostats, which can have your living space at the desired temperature when you walk in the door, and entertainment devices, which can stream programming to your display whenever you want to watch it."

CYP launches a pair of 4K HDBaseT matrices-- the PU-8H8HBTE-4K22 and PU-8H8HBTPL-4K22, both featuring 4K resolution support and HDCP2.2 compliance with 8 HDMI inputs and 8 HDBaseT outputs.

The PU-8H8HBTE-4K22 is an 8x8 HDMI HDBaseT matrix with 5-Play convergence, LAN serving and PoC (Power over Cable), negating the need of a PSU for each receiver unit. Control comes through manual selection buttons, 2-way IR, RS-232, Telnet or web GUI, and support for RS-232 pass-through to the receivers is included.
