Easier Installs with HDMI over IP

  • PDF

MuxlabMuxLab launches an HDMI over IP solution capable of streaming HDMI content over any Ethernet LAN-- allowing installers to set up and change AV broadcasts without dedicated cabling systems or additional AV matrix-switching hardware.

The system features 2 devices. The HDMI over IP Encoder (500750) converts native HDMI to IP, allowing transmission over LAN, while the HDMI over IP Decoder (500751) converts the IP signal back to HDMI for playback.

A web-based interface allows device management, as well as optimisation for best performance.

The Universal Coax Stripper

  • PDF

Klein Tools launches the Coax Combination Radial Stripper-- a tool allowing installers to strip both utility and standard size cables, including RG6, RG6-QS, RG59, RG11 and RG7.

Klein ToolsIt provides 2-level (outer jacket and dielectric [7.9mm and 6.4mm]) stripping in 1 step, as the sliding depth gauging removes guesswork out of repeatable cable end preparation. It also prevents installers from using their fingers as a backstop on sharp wire tips.

High-carbon steel cutting blades automatically adjust to different cable diameters, while the finger loop facilitates controlled rotation.

Octava Expands HDMI over CAT6 Matrix

  • PDF

Octava launches the HD42CATMX-- an affordable 4x2 HDMI matrix switch combining HDMI inputs with dual integrated RJ-45 extender outputs to zones A and B.

OctavaThe RJ-45 outputs connect to the matching HDCATIR-RX in-room receiver over distances of up to 35m using either CAT5 or CAT6 cable, with support for 1080p60 signals. It is also 3D compatible and has a "Forced 3D" EDID mode handling a mix of 3D and non-3D displays, together with 4 other pre-configured user-selectable EDID modes.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology allows for clutter free installation at both remote zones, since the matrix powers the matching receiver units.

A USB port allows for simple firmware and custom EDID updates, while an RS232 port allows control system integration.

Power-over-CAT5 for USB Devices

  • PDF

VidaBox launches the vCharger and vPower station combo-- a complete long-distance power-over-CAT5 USB charging solution ideal for use with mobile devices.

VidaboxThe vCharger unit draws voltage from a vPower station (via CAT5) and converts it to charge a connected USB device. Using a custom power-over-CAT5 design, it provides power for up to 100m.

You can connect up to x4 vCharger units to a single vPower station via vPower 4-port adapter.

The vCharger has no moving parts and is designed for ultra-reliable, long term use within a compact (3"x2"x2") design. It is easily hidden inside in-wall/back boxes and functions without ventilation (it is not rated for standalone, in-wall use).

For added flexibility the vCharger is also backwards compatible with older PoE switches as power sources.
