Iogear Intros Wireless Streaming Matrix

  • PDF

Iogear launches the Wireless 5x2 HD Matrix (GWHDMS52) at CES 2013-- a means to send separate uncompressed 1080p content from up to x5 sources to 2 displays or projectors.

Iogear MatrixThe matrix handles both digital and analog sources, with independent switching between sources.

According to the company through the Wireless 5x2 HD Matrix allows customers to keep cable box, Blu-ray player, game console and media server in one room, with an HDTV accessing content and another HDTV receiving separate content wirelessly in any room.

Signal range is up to 30m.

The Wireless 5x2 HD Matrix will be available from Q2 2013.

Extron Introduces Three Input HDCP-Compliant Scaler

  • PDF

Extron Electronics introduces the DSC 301 HD a compact HDCP-compliant video scaler. This scaler has an HDMI input, configurable high resolution analog and composite video inputs, and an HDMI output.

DSC 301 HDFeaturing an advanced scaling engine with 30-bit processing and 1080i de-interlacing, the DSC 301 HD handles output resolutions up to 1920x1200, including 1080p and 2K. It includes EDID Minder, automatic input switching, and simplifies system connections by embedding audio from one of the three stereo inputs onto the HDMI output. Designed for professional integration, the compact, low profile half-rack width enclosure enables simple and discreet mounting in many environments.

"The DSC 301 HD delivers high performance and a wealth of features at an economical price point," says Casey Hall, VP Sales and Marketing for Extron. "With its compact form factor, and compelling feature set, this scaler lends itself to basic applications calling for a three input switching scaler as well as more complex systems where multiple scalers are deployed into a large signal distribution system."

The DSC 301 HD offers several features to simplify AV system setup and operation. For HDMI signals with protected content, Key Minder authenticates and maintains continuous HDCP encryption between input sources and displays for quick and reliable switching.

When receiving an HDCP-encrypted HDMI input source signal, the DSC 301 HD provides immediate visual confirmation when protected content cannot be viewed on a display. Front panel controls, an intuitive on-screen display, plus USB and RS-232 connections provide flexible control and monitoring capability.

VGA over CAT5 Solution from Vision

  • PDF

Vision’s “Techconnect Twist” range has grown with the introduction of the new TC2 VGATP – a VGA over CAT5e system. Sold as a set, the transmitter presents as a normal Vision Techconnect VGA and minijack module from the front, allowing tidy clip-in installation.

Vision Techconnect TwistAudio passes through the transmitter, but VGA is sent to the receiver which plugs directly into the projector - via twisted pair cable up to 60 metres long. A power-over-ethernet system means only one mains power adaptor is required to power both the transmitter and receiver – and this can be used at either end.

Vision say AV resellers can take advantage in buildings which have been flood-wired with network cable. CAT5 cable is far less expensive than VGA and is easier to work with; it has a tighter bend-radius, is thinner, easier to pull, and simple to terminate.

Replacing VGA cable with a twisted pair cable means if in the future the users need to replace the VGA with HDMI or DisplayPort, then they can just change the adaptors at the ends.

SSP is £125 for the set which suddenly makes it possible for installers to stop using expensive VGA altogether and future-proof the installation with CAT5. In stock from February.

Extron Ships Fibre Optic Extender

  • PDF

Extron now ships the DDX 102 Dual Link DVI Fibre Optic Extender-- a transmitter and receiver set for long range DVI signal delivery over fibre optic cable.

DDX 102It delivers pixel-for-pixel transmission of video images up to 2560x1600, including 1080p/60 HDTV. The extender boosts either dual link DVI-D signals for up to 500m over x2 multimode cables or single link DVI signals over x1 fibre optic cables.

The transmitter and receiver feature industry standard LC-type connectors and can be used for point-to-point applications with dual link DVI requirements. The units connect directly to DVI source and display devices, eliminating the need for additional mounting hardware.

EDID Minder automatically manages EDID, maintaining continuous communication with the source to ensure it powers up properly and reliably outputs content for display. The transmitter also provides an EDID capture mode to store display EDID.

Long Range HDMI from Magenta

  • PDF

Magenta promises the eradication of distances with the HD-One DX500 and HD-One LX500 extenders-- delivering HDMI signals for up to 152m over a single CAT6 cable.

Magenda extendersThe HD-One DX500 supports HDCP-protected 1920x1200 and 1080p HDMI video plus embedded audio. The HD-One LX500 adds 2-way RS-232 and IR signal (36.7, 38.0 or 58.8kHz, user selectable) support.

Magenta claims HD-One500 products use less power, dissipate less heat and offer better performance than similar HD-BaseT-based products.

Both devices come in a kit complete with transmitter, receiver and power supplies (and a pair of IR dongles for the HD-One LX500).

Extron launches the DTP HDMI 230 D-- a Decora-style transmitter/receiver set extending HDMI, audio and bidirectional RS-232 and IR control signals for up to 70m over a single CATx cable.

ExtronAs well as extending HDMI with embedded multi-channel audio, the DTP HDMI 230 D accepts and digitises analog audio signals for simultaneous transmission over the same twisted pair cable.

It also maintains DDC communication of EDID and HDCP between source and display, ensuring direct compatibility and optimal signal transmission between devices.

The DTP HDMI 230 D is compatible with CAT 5e, CAT 6 and CAT 7 twisted pair cables, and is ideal as a point-to-point solution or integrated with an HDMI switcher. It supports signal resolutions up to 1080p/60 or 1920x1200, with HDMI specification features including 6.75Gbps data rates, Deep Colour, HD lossless audio formats and CEC.

Installers can power either transmitter or receiver over the original twisted pair cable, allowing both devices to share a single external power supply.

The two devices are available separately, and can be mixed and match with the desktop DTP HDMI 230 transmitter/receiver to suit specific installation requirements.
