Lilin NVRISE 2018 houses the showcase of a range of Lilin products-- including a number of additions to its camera and network video recorder (NVR) line.

Products on display include the NVR 5 series capable of supporting 4K resolution across all 32 channels. All models offer 300Mbps throughput, 120fps individual camera recording (960fps in total) and are compatible with all Lilin cameras. The NVR can also be integrated with most leading home automation platforms via IP drivers, as well as controlled via the LilinViewer app.

Nortek Security & Control (NSC) integrates the ELAN Entertainment and Control Platform with the 2GIG GC3 security and control panel, making what the company claims is the first Z-Wave Plus-certified security panel.

Elan 2gigThe integration allows native control of the GC3 panel from the ELAN user interface. ELAN Auto Zone Detection simplifies installation, since once the panel is configured, all zones and zone names are automatically added to the system. An "Arm-Disarm" feature shows current panel security status, and provides controls for the arming and disarming of the GC3 system, while "Auto Arm" arms the panel without entering a PIN code.

Kopi securityAs one might imagine, the Kopi Security Hub is the central point for all accessories and devices. It connects to home networks via wifi, and can raise an alarm via built-in high-pitched speaker users can arm or disarm via NFC tags. Configuration and control comes through Kopi Connected app able to push status and notifications to users.

HomeKit compatibility allows users to control the Security Hub via Apple Home app. One can also add the hub and associated devices to set scenes and automations. The hub also integrates with Android devices via Google Home and Amazon Alexa.

ASSA Abloy Acquires August

ASSA Abloy, the Swedish lock conglomerate and owner of Yale, among other brands, buys into smart locks with August Home. Financial details of the deal are not available.

August lockAs the biggest lock and access company in the world, ASSA Abloy operates in over 70 countries. It claims it has been a market leader since 1881, and is currently looking to consolidate its position through buying further in the next big thing in locks, namely smart technology. After all it also owns Yale, maker of a number of HomeKit- and Alexa-compatible products.

Founded in 2013, August offers a popular smart lock range in the US, even but its products remain unavailable in other markets. It also dabbles in smart home through an Alexa- and HomeKit-compatible smart doorbell.
