BenQ Launches MX661 BYOD Projector

MX661

BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) is something you’ll read about a lot over the next 12 months. Why? Well, because it’s the latest buzzword and people in technology like to sound forward-thinking.

So, it’s no surprise that BenQ is using the BYOD term to market the MX661's multi-user connectivity wireless capabilities — something that’s been around for years in projectors from Barco, Christie and Sony.

The MX661 is a 3000-lumen, 1-chip DLP XGA (1024?768) projector that when paired with the QPresenter app allows up to four participants to collaborate and share documents, photos and Internet content directly from their tablets to the projector.

Digital Projection introduce the world’s first 3-chip DLP LED Projector at InfoComm, an addition to their Titan range.

Titan LEDAimed primarily at high-end home cinemas, as well as the simulation and visualization markets, this projector features all the video processing of the Titan range plus 60,000+ hours of stable and consistent LED illumination

It features high frame rate and low latency capabilities. The LED illumination provides a colour gamut well beyond requirements for HDTV or cinema. For the more demanding applications, FastFrame Smear Reduction is available via the high bandwidth inputs.

There is support for all the commercial and domestic 3D formats. There is also an IR model available so you can use night vision. You can dim the LED light output from 100% to 1% to simulate different light conditions.

More than a Million in 2013: Pico Projectors

  • PDF

PicoLinda Norton, Vice President at PMA Research (formerly Pacific Media Associates) told LinkedIn group members, “We are very optimistic in looking at stand-alone Pico and Personal projectors. The market has grown exponentially. In 2008, less than 100,000 units sold. In 2012 it reached 850,000 and we are forecasting more than a million for 2013. That's not including units embedded in phones and cameras.”

She added they are not yet as feature-packed as the ultra-short -throw business and education models, but pico and personal are certainly being embraced by road warriors doing small group presentations.

10000 Lumens from Display Development

  • PDF

Display Development launches a pair of compact projectors-- the Digital Film 4 (DF4) and Digital Film 5 (DF5), both delivering 2K DCI performance and a Xenon lamp with up to 10000 lumens output inside a chassis 71cm deep.

DF4Suitable for bright rooms with acoustically transparent screens, the DF systems include 16-bit processors, the Display Development VP-100 videp processor and a Smart Cooling system.

The Xenon lamp offers consistent brightness, extends colour gamut and improves image fidelity with wider dynamics and colour fidelity than 2- or 4-lamp UHP systems, Display Development says.

The DF4 features a VariScope lens for multiple screen memory display without need for an anamorphic lens, while the DF4 features a fixed-image-width lens.

Multiple installation options are available, together with 3D image processing from DCI servers and 3D Blu-ray players.
