  • PDF

Sony presents the VPL-VW675ES at CEDIA 2016-- a compact native 4K resolution home cinema projector featuring Hybrid Log-Gamma (HyLG) technology, a key component in upcoming HDR TV broadcasts.

Sony projectorHyLG technology is a development by NHK and the BBC. It facilitates the broadcast of HDR content by ensuring broadcasters can utlise current 10-bit infrastructure, necessitating only the upgrade of cameras and critical monitoring displays, as opposed to the entire system.

The VPL-VW675ES does not support HyLG out of the box, since it will come through a firmware update following the standardisation of the new HDMI specification. However it does support HDR10, allowing users to enjoy streaming HDR content from the likes of Amazon Video and Netflix, as well as UHD Blu-ray players.
