Lithe Audio presents a bathroom version of its wifi all-in-one ceiling speaker-- the IP44 bathroom ceiling speaker complete with built-in amplifier and wifi, making it an all-in-one solution for multi-room music streaming.

The Lithe Audio wifi ceiling speakers enable streaming from any audio service to a single or up to 30 speakers at once for a full multi-room experience. A companion app saves settings for individual zones, or can deliver an all zone party mode. The speakers are AirPlay-certified, and the app is compatible with Spotify Connect, Deezer, Tidal and vTuner.

Sonus faber debuts the Palladio custom installation speaker collection at ISE 2019-- a range of 13 models, including in-wall and in-ceiling speakers, available in different combinations according to any architectural environment.

The Palladio collection comes in two lines, Level 5 and Level 6. It is named after the Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio, considered one of the most influential figures in Western architecture. Level 5 front panels feature satin aluminium trims framing both tweeter and mid-woofer, and the string pattern references the Sonus faber Sonetto bookshelf stand design, a reference to the use of elastic strings in the first Guarneri stands (1993).

As one might expect from Flexson, the Sonos accessory specialist has a trio of installation options for the recently launched Sonos Amp-- the SA-WM Wall Mount, SA-X4WM Wall Mount for 4 Sonos Amps and the SA-X4DK Dock, also for 4 Sonos Amps.

The SA-WM allows installers to mount the Sonos Amp to the wall. It measures 288 x 217 x 70mm, and features a bespoke plate attached to the wall allowing one to securely slide the Amp in place. A cable cover colour-matched to the Amp hides wires. The mount also allows customers to mount the amplifier to the back of a TV using VESA mounts.

McIntosh is the next company to take on streaming audio as it announces the RS200-- a next-generation all-in-one wireless speaker system compatible with multiple services, as well as Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth 5.0.

It offers power output rated at 650W, as delivered to 8 drivers consisting of two 4- x 6-inch woofers, four 2-inch midranges and two 3/4-inch tweeters. In addition, a subwoofer output allows connection to an external-powered subwoofer to further enhance low frequencies. A 3-position EQ switch allows customers to set the EQ as based on the specific room and listening preferences.

Focal introduces the 100 IWSUB8-- a passive bass-reflex subwoofer designed for in-wall mounting-- together with the 100 IWSUB8 dedicated amplifier to the 100 series of discreet audio solutions.

The 100 IWSUB8 passive subwoofer consists of an 8-inch Polyglass speaker driver, and can be installed during the pre-construction of a wall using 16-in OC studs. It has a shallow in-wall depth (33/8-in) and a bass cut-off frequency of 30Hz to -6db, and installers can paint the magnetic grille to match the decor of the room, making it discrete.

ISE 2019 sees the return to custom installation of high-end audio gear maker McIntosh, as it debuts a CI range of distribution amplifiers, together with in-wall and in-ceiling speakers.

“We are excited to return to the custom install category with these new amplifiers and speakers," the company says. "Many of our traditional home audio products have been used for distributed audio applications by talented CI installers. We are happy to once again offer products specifically designed for custom installation.”

The distribution amplifiers in question are the 4-channel MI254 power amplifier (250W into 8 ohms) and 8-channel MI128 power amplifier (120W). Both employ closed-loop digital switching amplifiers and robust power supplies, a combination the company claims produces performance levels rarely achieved in distributed audio.
