Pico Projectors Get Smaller, USB Powered

  • PDF

Texas Instruments DLPTexas Instruments' DLP group displays its thinnest, smallest optical engine yet at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress-- the nHD Pico.

The technology is small enough to fit into any device-- phones, tablets, and increasingly smaller pico projectors-- like Texas Instruments' own prototype at the show.

The projector's specs include 640 x 360 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, RGB LED wide colour gamut and a low-power processor. In fact, the Texas Instruments prototype doesn't carry a built-in battery-- relying instead on USB cable.

No details on which companies will ship a branded version of the device in the future, but it should be on its way later this year.
