BenQ TK850

BenQ announces the TK850, a projector aimed at entertainment and sports enthusiasts with "true" 4K UHD DLP projection, exclusive HDR-PRO technology and a specialised Sports mode.

According to the company, the TK850 takes full advantage of 4K HDR broadcasts (namely HLG), as well as 4K streaming content to deliver "breathtaking realism." Projection resolution clocks at 8.3 pixels at 3840 x 2160, while HDR-PRO technology uses dynamic iris control and HDR brightness for enhanced tone mapping. Brightness reaches up to 3000 lumens, with durable Digital Light Processing promising long-lasting picture quality, making the TK850 ideal even for brightly-lit living rooms.

As for the aforementioned Sports mode, the TK850 enhances video quality with realistic skin tones, naturally balanced blues and greens and warm woodgrains. The mode also boasts the built-in CinemaMaster Audio+2 10W chambered sound system. The actual projector comes in a compact profile and offers vertical lens shift +10%, 1.3X zoom and 4K short-throw projection. Installation should be easy, as it uses the same ceiling mounts and screens from existing BenQ 1080p projectors, such as the W1070, HT2050, HT2050A or HT3050.

The TK850 is available now.
