The Iota system features a built-in HD camera, motion sensor, two-way audio and wifi connectivity. HomeKit allows Apple users to add the Iota directly to the Home app, providing a single means to control the smart home. In addition, customers can add all Adobe-branded motion, door and window sensors connected to the Iota gateway to the Home app.

Through HomeKit compatibility, users can arm or disarm the Iota system and receive notifications of motion events triggered by the motion sensors, as well as open or close events triggered by door or window sensors. The app also provides a live stream from the built-in streaming camera, and users can ask Siri for an update on home status. That said, remote access requires an Apple TV (4th gen or later), HomePod or iPad running iOS 10 or later in the home.

Furthermore, the Home app allows the creation of automations with smart home rules including the Adobe security system. Adobe users can add compatible security devices to existing groups by room, or configure the smart home according to their preferences.

The update adding HomeKit support to Iota systems is available now. Abode also plans to add support for Gen 1 and Gen 2 systems, allowing customers to use it with Apple devices.
