Simaudio launches the Moon 680D-- a more affordable sibling to the 780D v2 streaming DAC offering support for nearly all kinds of digital music library, as well as Roon and MQA file compatibility.
The Moon 680D acts as both a DAC and a network streamer. It can handle PCM decoding up to 32-bit/384kHZ and DSD256 digital audio files,and offers a full range of digital inputs (USB, AES/EBU, SPDIF, optical, ethernet, wif and aptX audio for Bluetooth). A MiND 2 streaming module caters for a number of high-resolution music services, including Tidal Masters, Qobuz Sublime+ and Deezer Hifi.
As mentioned earlier, the 680D is also Roon-ready and MQA-certified. Customers can pair it with any amplifier, although of course Simaudio suggests using the Moon 600i v2 integrated amplifier.
The streaming DAC ships on December 2019 in a choice of black, silver or two-tone finishes.
