Connected Distribution, the European distributor for US-based speaker maker Heritage Acoustics, announces the addition of the company's Signature Series in-ceiling loudspeakers to its portfolio.
The range includes 5 in-ceiling speakers, all recognisable by an iconic blue cone finish and the use of larger (up to 25mm) pivoting dome tweeters. A recessed woofer and baffle design permits unrestricted airflow to improve low frequency response and more carefully directed high frequency output. Installation promises to be fast and stable through dog-ear fixings allowing installers to work down to 6mm of ceiling thickness.
The first model in the range is the SS-610, a 90W model featuring a 165mm injection moulded polypropylene cone and a 19mm soft dome tweeter. A first order crossover ensures clean transition from bass/mid to high frequencies, as well as minimal component influence on sound quality. The second model, the SS-610T, is a single point stereo variant of the SS-610, with two 19mm tweeters and a dual voice coil bass driver. Designed for small areas, it handles up to 100W and reproduces frequencies from 40Hz to 20kHz.
The SS-620 promises increased power handling and greater sensitivity through the replacement of the IMPP cone with a Kevlar variant, together with the use of a 25mm titanium dome tweeter. The next model, the SS-630, features a 165mm carbon fibre cone, 25mm titanium tweeter and the ability to make +/-3dB adjustments to bass and treble response. For greater bass response, the SS-820 has a 200mm cone, increases low frequency output to 35Hz and handles 120W of power.
