Ultimate Ears announces a sequel to the Wonderboom Bluetooth speaker-- the Wonderboom 2, an update promising better sound and longer battery life, as well as true stereo pairing.
The Wonderboom 2 retains the same look as the original, being a chunky cylindrical number complete with an IP67 rating against dust and water. It is also able to float in water, making it safe to take around the pool or beach. The update does add a choice of two-tone fabrics, a bigger centre button for pause/play and pairing and a flatter bungee cord loop.
As mentioned earlier, the speaker features a larger batter allowing for up to 13 hours of use on a single charge (up from 10 hours) and improved speaker pairing. Previously, users could just pair two Wonderbook speakers for double the audio output, but pairing Wonderboom 2 speakers brings about real stereo separation. Another addition is an "Outdoor Boost" mode bringing an EQ preset designed for outdoor use.
The Wonderboom 2 is available by end June 2019 in a choice of red, blue, pink, gray and black colours.
