Parasound Intros Integrated Amp With Built-in DAC

  • PDF

Parasound announces the NewClassic 200 Integrated Amplifier and DAC-- a device with all the preamp features of the NewClassic 200 Pre, plus the ability to drive high quality loudspeakers without need for a separate power amplifier.

Parasound Newclassic 200Like the 200 Pre, the 200 Integrated includes analog bass management for optimal performance with compact satellite speakers and a powered subwoofer. The amplifier stage is the latest design from Pascal, a Danish company with expertise in class D engineering. The result is a slim 1U chassis packing 100W/channel RMS 8 ohms.

The two NewClassic products inherit features from the premium Parasound Halo product family, such as a Home Theatre Bypass function with adjustable 40-140Hz high-pass crossovers for the L and R outputs. Both 200 Integrated and 200 Pre generate full range and <80Hz sub outputs, and carry Burr-Brown DACs.

Custom installer-friendly features include presets for both turn-on volume and favourite volume, a bi-directional RS232 serial port equipped with Control4 drivers, rear panel IR repeater input and a 12V trigger output. Input level offset (source level matching) ensures sources with varying output voltage play at the same level.

The front panel LCD display is dimmable and features a built-in library of 28 words, making it simple to name each input for the source device connected to it. The backlit remit includes adjustments for L-R balance, bass and treble adjust, subwoofer on-off and even subwoofer level. The bypass input enables direct connection to the amplifier stage, facilitating integration with surround sound systems or connecting a streaming device with own volume control, such as the Sonos Connect.

The Parasound NewClassic 200 Integrated ships on Q3 2019.
