Parasound announces the NewClassic 200 Pre-- an analog audio preamplifier and DAC aimed at the entry-level market, featuring an analog signal path including analog bass management with high and low pass outputs.
The 200 Pre has an adjustable 12-140Hz high-pass crossover and offers inputs for just about any source, including phono MM/MC, x2 line inputs, theatre bypass for L, R and 2 subs, digital USB, coax and optical. The front panel has an aux line level input with an automatic 12dB gain increase to improve sound quality for portable devices. The DAC is a Burr-Brown number found in the recently discontinued Halo P5 preamp.
Custom install features include turn-on volume presets, favourite volume setting, bi-directional RS232 serial port, rear panel IR input and 12V trigger output. Input offset (level matching) allows all sources to play at the same level, regardless of output levels. The backlit remote control features controls for L-R balance, bass and treble, subwoofer on-off and subwoofer level.
