CES 2019 might be a few months away, but the rumours on what will be on show are already rolling on-- such as Engadget claiming rollable OLED TV prototypes will take "centre stage" at the LG Display stand.
LG first showed off a flexible OLED technology back at CES 2016 in the shape of an 18-inch flexible and transparent OLED panel. This started an annual LG tradition of showing bigger and curvier versions of the technology, culminating in the CES 2018 presentation of a 65-inch 4K OLED rollable TV.
The rollable TV seen at CES 2018 is housed in a compact box, and rolls up or down via remote control. Users could even resize the TV, turning it from full-size display to a slim notification panel showing a music player, calendar and news information.
Engadget adds LG might be eyeing a 2019 release for the TV, together with a foldable smartphone. Either way, all LG products on show at CES 2019 will make part of ThinQ, the AI brand covering just about every piece of connected CE from the company.
