Crestron Pyng Update Adds Video Support

  • PDF

Crestron announces Pyng OS 2-- an update offering support for full integration of video control and distribution, including Crestron DigitalMedia products, AVRs, local sources, STBs, remote controls and more.

Crestron PyngPyng OS 2 is "baked in" the CP3-R 3-series, a rack-mountable enterprise-grade control system for residential applications. The CP3-R includes a full complement of control ports to handle any size automation project, home theatre, multi-room video or MDU application, and integrates best-in-class Crestron hardware such as audio, video, lighting, motorized shades, climate control, door locks and sensors.

The software promises to reduce to the time required to set up and deploy luxury home automation, at any scale. Setup takes a few steps, and can be done via iPad or web application with no programming required. Cloud-based service support allows installers to configure, control and support client systems remotely.

New Pyng OS 2 functionality includes the ability to definite all video connections visually, control video and route sources, and group audio devices to play the same source (video grouping coming soon). Also included are TV presets for easy access to favourite TV channels, radio stations, movies and music, access to 3rd party device drives from the cloud and handheld remote programming, just like keypad buttons.

The CP3 control system ships from September 2018.
