Signify announces a pair of additions to the Philips Hue smart lighting range-- the Hue Play light bar and the Hue Signe lamp, both aimed at customers wanting to bring a splash of coloured light to the walls.

The Play is a compact light bar one can position in a variety of ways. It provides an indirect light effect, and can sit horizontally or vertically next to a TV, or mounted behind as a backlight. Other suggested uses include placement on the floor or on a bookcase or sideboard to provide accent lighting. A sleek design (in black or white) allows it blend into any entertainment area, while control comes through the Hue bridge and companion app.

Meanwhile the Signe lamp is a slim offering designed to offer indirect lighting in white and coloured ambiance light. It can be positioned next to the TV, used to accent a special room feature, or simply brighten up a dark space. One can simply plug the lamp in the mains, or connect it to the Hue bridge to add it to a wider Hue ecosystem.

The Hue Signe will be available in European markets as a table or floor lamp light from September 2018. The Hue Play follows in a single or double pack on October.
