Swann claims to be the first security vendor to add Google Asssistant voice control to its multi-camera wired surveillance systems, allowing customers to simply ask, through voice, to see live security camera feeds on their TVs.

Swann google assistantThrough the integration customers can use voice commands to stream video from security cameras on the TV using the Google Assistant via Google Home and Chromecast. Voice commands include "Okay Google, show me channel one," or "Hey Google, show me the front door." All control is, of course, hands-free.

Setup first involves the installation of the Swann HomeSafe View app on a mobile device, before pairing with the Google Assistant. Voice commands will be responded to via Google Assistant app or Google Home speaker, and the Chromecast will recognise the commands and stream video from security cameras to the connected TV.

"Voice assistant integration is a top technology trend of 2018 across a variety of consumer electronics which includes home security," the company says. "While some wireless cameras have incorporated voice integrations, Swann is the first to bring this technology to wired multi-camera systems where we lead the market. Wired systems remain more robust and secure compared to their wireless counterparts and can offer users a view of multiple cameras on their TV with a simple voice command."
