The Screen Innovations (SI) Zero-G offers an "extended maximum drop" to help installers specify a motorised screen in the case of an extremely tall ceiling making it all but impossible.

Zero-G has no black mask above the viewing surface. Instead, the screen is housed inside a two-piece tube suspended from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMwPE) cables. It deploys at a pre-set location and unrolls itself, displaying the viewing surface with up to 5m of drop.

SI ambient light rejecting (ALR) screen materials, such as Slate, are available on Zero-G, and the area above the viewing surface is acoustically transparent and does negatively impact the viewing experience like a standard motorised screen with black masking material. Since it is completely open above, art-deco walls, large windows, speakers and even lighting systems remain visible, since they are not covered by a large black mask.

In addition to the long drop option, SI says it also re-engineered many of the internals of the Zero-G chassis, including mechanics such as a new end-cap design milled entirely from one block of aluminium. Meanwhile internal mounting points get improved consistencies through the use of barrel mounts instead of a pulley system.
