Nortek announces the 2GIG Water Leak Detector-- a device the company announces as the first sensor to provide dual-source protection against water leaks and flooding.
“The Water Leak Detector is a "notification" sensor, designed to give homeowners important information in advance of events,” Nortek says. “Water damage is the number one residential insurance claim in the U.S. This new sensor notifies homeowners in the first stages of a leak, allowing them to react quickly to resolve the problem.”
The Water Leak Detector alerts customers of leaks before water damage or flooding has a chance to occur. The sensor resides under a water source, and sends notifications to a smartphone or security panel if it detects drips or pooled water. Wireless transmission is compatible with 2GIG and Honeywell systems, and installation requires no tools.
The sensor is part of the 2GIG Notification Sensors line, which adds multiple touch points to the 2GIG system and allows installers to personalise security systems, improving customer satisfaction and retention.
