Lutron Electronics announces the acquisition of Ketra, maker of "natural light" indoor lighting solutions able to emulate daylight in interior spaces. Financial details of the deal are not available.
Founded in 2009 in Austin, Texas, Ketra sells lighting and control solutions for both residential and commercial environments. Ketra light sources create white, pastel and saturated colours customers can tailor to specific needs, be it a bright, energising light for the office or a warm and comforting light for the living room.
Tying Ketra products together is a proprietary ZigBee network able to calculate the exact performance of the RGBW LED emitters many times per second. Such a system allows end users to control individual LEDs in real time. Meanwhile installers get a Design Studio tool to dial in colour temperature and saturation levels. Ketra light sources are already compatible with the Lutron's HomeWorks QS home control system and Quantom light management system.
