French audio vendor Trinnov presents a successor to the Altitude32-- the Altitude16, a more affordable home cinema processor option featuring the same core technologies, including a proprietary DSP.

The Altitude16 renders up to 16 discrete channels of information, and features Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D and DTS:X immersive audio decoders. It natively processes high-resolution 24/96 audio, and Trinnov claims it has no limit in terms of subwoofer outputs. Also included is support for 4-way active crossovers.

Another feature from the Altitude32 found in the Altitude16 is the Trinnov Speaker/Room Optimiser, which the company says goes far beyond more common auto-EQ technologies available from 3rd parties. Meanwhile the proprietary Trinnov Remapping technology promises to reconcile the differeing speaker placement recommendations of the three 3D audio formats.
