LG Shows Off Rollable, Ultra-Thin OLEDs

LG has a number of futuristic displays at CES 2016, but the one currently making the headlines is a thin 18-inch OLED panel one can roll up like a newspaper.

LG Display rollableShown off under the slogan "Your Imagination, Our Innovation," the rollable display is just one of a number of LG prototypes at the show. Other exmples include an ultra-thin 55-inch OLED TV with separately installed electronics, a matching pair of 65-inch "extreme-curve" concave/convex OLED displays and a 25-inch curved screen installed inside a car.

Of course, CES 2016 also involves regular TVs from the company-- such as 65- and 77-inch UHD OLED TV panels complete with HDR functionality, a 65-inch TV with "Art Slim" and "Borderless" technology, a 65-inch UHD TV panel with M+ technology promising to reduce power consumption by 35% and a first 8K (7680x4320) 65-inch TV panel.

In addition LG shows off commercial displays designed for digital signage applications, such as a 55-inch double-sided display able to show different images on each side and a 139-inch Vertical Tiling OLED (VTO) display made of x8 double-sided 65-inch OLED panels forming an S-shape pattern.
