Microsoft Pushes Video to TVs

  • PDF

Microsoft adapterMicrosoft announces a wireless means for customers to share video or images from Miracast-enabled smartphones or tablets on displays armed with an HDMI port-- the self-descriptively named Microsoft Wireless Adapter.

The simple device features HDMI and USB ports, both of which are plugged into an HDTV, monitor or projector. It pairs with mobile devices without need for a companion app, and can either mirror output or extend displays.

It is compatible with Android and Windows 8.1 devices, including (obviously) Microsoft's own Surface tablets and Lumia smartphones.

The Microsoft Wireless Adapter should be available from October 2014.
