The Moving BeoVision Avant TV

  • PDF

Watching the latest Bang & Olufsen TV, the BeoVision Avant, can be described as something of a moving experience-- the sound system inside the edge-lit 55-inch 4K set expands from the panel with the press of a button.

BO AvantThe movement of audio system is actually kind of fascinating. It first slides down vertically before left- and right-channel speakers slide out from the sides. When not in use the system smoothly retracts back behind the panel, much like a snail hiding back inside its shell.

Inside the sound system are three 0.75-inch tweeters, three 2-inch mids and a 4-inch woofer.

Adding further movement to the experience is a separate floor stand-- an anodised aluminium number with two rotating components allowing one to rotate the TV towards the viewer(s) with the press of a button. B&O also offers other stand options, including a motorised wall mount, motorised table stand and a bog-standard non-motorised wall mount.

As for the TV itself, the set features 6x HDMI ports, wifi connectivity, Spotify and Deezer integration, and WiSA wireless audio support. Providing control is the BeoRemote One, with a "MyButtons" feature allowing users to save up to 3 personalisation settings (including channel, volume and even stand/directional position) to a single button.

The BeoVision Avant is available now.
