Screen Innovations (SI) demos additions to the Black Diamond series at CEDIA Expo 2012-- the Black Diamond Motorised and the Black Diamond Zero Edge G2.
The Black Diamond Motorised uses Black Diamond ambient light rejection screen technology, a material SI claims reduces light scatter by over 75%. With 1 motor, 4 custom helixes and a spool of slender aircraft cable, Black Diamond Motorised lowers a thin wing containing the rolled screen downward from a recessed ceiling-mounted cassette.
Once the cable-hung wing stops a small tube emerges and lowers itself to an adjustable, pre-determined image height, leaving only image space in sight.
The system needs no masking or black drop material, meaning it leaves no visible material above, below or on either side of the screen surface.
Also making a CEDIA Expo debut is the Black Diamond Zero Edge G2-- a multi-directional ambient light rejecting projection screen technology with the look and feel of a flat panel TV. It features a rigid panel and a 10mm bezel, with a frame design providing better structural support.
An integrated track system gives installers the option to inlay the optional LED Lighting Kit behind the screen for added effect.
The Black Diamond Zero Edge G2 is available in either Black .8 gain, Dark Gray 1.4 gain or Silver 2.7 gain materials.
