  • PDF

Sennheiser uses IFA 2018 to present a pair of audio products-- the Momentum True Wireless earbuds and the Ambeo soundbar, an all-in-one device promising immersive 5.1.4 sound complete with deep bass, no additional subwoofer required.

Sennheiser momentumThe Momentum True Wireless earbuds carry Sennheiser 7mm dynamic drivers for superior stereo sound, with a Transparent Hearing feature allowing users to listen to ambient sounds or conversations without need to remove the earbuds. Wireless connectivity comes through Bluetooth with aptX compatibility and AAC codec support.

Control comes through a touch interface, and voice control is included via access to smart assistants such as Apple Siri or Google Assistant. Battery life promises to reach 4 hours on a single charge, and an included case provides additional 12 hours of use.

Ambeo soundbarThe other Sennheiser product seen at IFA is the Ambeo soundbar-- a product the company claims offers a "new reference in hifi sound quality." It carries 13 drivers and virtualisation technology joint-developed with Fraunhofer, allowing for immersive 5.1.4 sound and deep bass from a single device. As such, it is compatible with 3D audio formats, including Dolby Atmos, MPEG-H and DTS:X, and built-in Upmix technology recreates stereo and 5.1 content into immersive 3D experiences.

The Momentum True Wireless earbuds hit the market on November 2018, with the Ambeo soundbar to follow on early 2019.
